The German Institute of Development and Sustainability gGmbH (IDOS) in Bonn is one of the leading research institutes on development policy. Through excellent research, policy advice and training, the Institute contributes to finding solutions to global challenges.
To strengthen our project „BioCAM4 – Biodiversity Integration in Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Actions for Planet, People, and Human Health“, we are looking with an immediate starting date and limited until 14.10.2027 for two

Research Assistants (f/m/diverse) 

Project Description: 

BioCAM4 develops methodologies for mapping Nature-based Climate Action (NBCA) trends worldwide and assessing local opportunities and challenges for NBCAs with dedicated deep-dive studies in two world regions. Focus lies on the climate-biodiversity interdependence, bringing together the broad concept of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and collaborative climate actions by non-state and subnational actors.

Tasks:
The students provide support to the BioCAM4 project. Tasks include assistance in:


  • the collection and organization of literature and data, and desk research
  • data-entry
  • preparation of project calls and meetings
  • assistance with data analysis
  • other tasks relevant to the project.

This job offer is exclusively for enrolled students. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a master’s programme at a German University. Candidates who already have a master’s degree are unfortunately not eligible for formal reasons, even if they are enrolled in another master’s programme.

Anforderungen

Requirements: 

  • Enrolment as a Master’s student in a German university
  • Available to work in Bonn
  • Interest in the substance of the project
  • Proficient command of the English language in a working environment
  • Good working knowledge with MS Word and Excel
  • Position 1: Experience with statistical programs (e.g. STATA, R, SQL) is an advantage
  • Position 2: Experience with qualitative research methods.
